The LiRo Group Appoints Richard Cavallaro as Chief Executive Officer

April 1, 2021

(New York, NY, March 31, 2021) The LiRo Group is pleased to announce that Richard ‘Rich’ Cavallaro has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Rich joins LiRo after having served in leadership positions at Gilbane and Skanska for nearly 25 years.  As the former CEO of Skanska USA, Rich will be applying his skills and experience to continue to provide LiRo’s team with the leadership necessary to enhance the award-winning integrated construction, design, and technology solutions its customers have come to expect.  As CEO, Rich will also be responsible for the development of strategic initiatives necessary for LiRo to maintain its ranking as one of the nation’s top companies in its field.

Rich knows the industry from the perspective of a professional.  He has led the teams that earned national and industry recognition for executing multibillion-dollar public private partnerships, complex technology-driven infrastructure projects, and transportation projects, including landmark projects in the road, rail, and aviation sectors.

Rich also has developed the skilled workforce that will be critical to LiRo as it competes to provide services to build and rebuild the nation’s infrastructure in line with the recent initiatives announced by the US Government.  He has developed excellent succession plans, provided for the personal and professional growth of his staff, and is known for having mentored the up-and-coming leadership of each business unit where he had responsibility.

“I am honored to be selected as LiRo’s next CEO,” said Cavallaro. “LiRo’s culture of providing value to clients as the guiding principle for good decision-making aligns with my approach to building a strong organization capable of meeting 21st century challenges.”

Rich joined LiRo, in part, as a result of LiRo’s recent merger with Global Infrastructure Solutions (GISI). GISI is a relative newcomer to the industry, founded by industry veterans and dedicated to building a family of global Engineering and Construction Management businesses meeting the needs of modern business, institutions, and government.  GISI companies deliver quality services by providing the resources necessary to empower the teams operating their legacy businesses, developing new professionals, adapting to changing delivery systems and technology, and by promoting common values.

“I am also pleased to reunite with many of my industry colleagues in this new role,” Cavallaro went on to say.

“On behalf of the LiRo Group, I welcome Rich, a well-respected leader in our industry, to guide us through the next chapter in LiRo’s growth and success,” said Rocco Trotta, LiRo Chairman.

“On behalf of GISI, I share Rocco’s enthusiasm for Rich to help us develop our teams so that they can grow with our business,” added John Dionisio, GISI Vice Chairman and Co-Founder.

An active member in the industry, Cavallaro previously held positions as Vice President of the New York General Contractors Association (GCA), Chairman of the New York Building Congress (NYBC), and is currently a Board Member of Family and Children’s Association, Member of the Construction Industry Round Table, National Academy of Construction, and a Moles Member. He has been active for 15 years in the Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

About GISI and LiRo

GISI commenced operations in January 2017 with its initial merger with the Structure Tone Organization, now STO Building Group (STOBG).   With the completion of its most recent mergers, STOBG consists of 11 companies located throughout the US, Canada, Ireland, and the UK providing construction management services, and ranks among the top 3 in its class in Engineering News Record.

With the LiRo merger in October 2020, GISI commenced operations in consulting services as part of its strategic objective to complement the construction management business with a global engineering consulting services platform. LiRo offers professional services, including engineering project program management for a fee and, for the most part, focuses on public and institutional markets. Now that it is teamed with GISI, and under Rich Cavallaro’s leadership, the enterprise will carry the LiRo services beyond its native New York.
