(Boston, MA, July 11, 2025) LiRo-Hill is proud to announce the strategic expansion of its leadership team in the Boston region with the addition of four seasoned professionals: Christopher Simmler, Charles “Mickey” Rooney, Todd Columbus and David Choi. These key hires underscore the firm’s commitment to growth and excellence in New England, bringing decades of combined experience across transportation, infrastructure, public sector, and advanced facilities. Each new leader brings a unique set of skills and deep expertise that will strengthen LiRo-Hill’s capabilities and position the company for continued success across the region.

Mr. Simmler joins LiRo-Hill as a Senior Vice President. He is a seasoned industry leader with over 28 years of experience delivering complex projects in the built environment. His background spans government, education, healthcare, and life sciences, with a track record of launching and scaling PMCM/OPM practices. Mr. Simmler holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and brings to the firm a unique blend of leadership, operational expertise, and client trust, shaped by his service as a U.S. Marine Corps officer.

Mr. Rooney joins as Vice President bringing more than three decades of transportation infrastructure experience. He previously held senior roles at Jacobs and spent over two decades with the MBTA. A Civil Engineering graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, he will lead efforts to expand LiRo-Hill’s presence in the New England transportation market, leveraging his deep regional knowledge and industry connections.

Mr. Columbus brings over 25 years of proven industry leadership and deep expertise to LiRo-Hill. He has successfully delivered complex projects for high-profile clients such as Verizon, CVS, Harvard, and Northeastern, and most recently led the mechanical engineering group at his previous firm for 13 years. In his new role, he will help grow LiRo-Hill’s MEP services and support integrated infrastructure solutions across the region. Mr. Columbus holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and is a licensed Professional Engineer

Mr. Choi brings over 26 years of architectural and design leadership in advanced facilities, infrastructure, and federal projects. With deep experience as an Owner’s Project Manager for major clients such as MassDevelopment, GSA, and MBTA, he is known for connecting people and ideas to deliver transformative results. Mr. Choi holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard and is a Registered Architect in multiple states.
