Murray Levi leads LiRo's Architecture and Sustainability Consulting practices. An award-winning architect, his expertise is administration of projects for institutional clients including education, health care and government agency sponsored projects. His expertise also encompasses technically complex projects, as well as the integration of digital technologies into academic settings, laboratory and hospital design.
A passionate advocate of sustainable design, Mr. Levi's work has repeatedly achieved architectural excellence by applying sustainable design principles. Since the early 1980's he has participated in many ground-breaking sustainably designed architecture projects and building performance studies, and regularly consults with institutional and corporate clients seeking to reduce their environmental footprint and carbon burden.
Mr. Levi proudly served a full tenure as a member of the Board of Directors of the Urban Green Council (USGBC New York Chapter) from 2004 through 2010 where he actively participated as Chairman of the Program and Education Committee from 2002. Other professional activities include membership in the American Institute of Architects, the International Facilities Managers Association, Greater New York Chapter (IFMA) where he received the "Environmental Awareness" award for 2006 and is a founding member of their Sustainability Task Force; and membership in the Building Owners and Managers Association of New York. He is also past Chair of the Environmental Business Association of New York State (EBA) High Performance Building Task Force.
In addition to his work as an Architect, Mr. Levi lectures frequently on sustainable design, building operations and maintenance and teaches the subject at the New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate, the Baruch College Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute, and School of Visual Arts.
Mr. Levi received his Bachelor in Architecture degree from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
