Luis M. Tormenta, P.E. – Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
A highly accomplished leader in the region’s design and construction industry, Mr. Tormenta has over thirty years experience, and has led many of New York City’s complex construction projects and the administration of several public capital programs. Formerly the founding Commissioner of the New York City Department of Design and Construction, Mr. Tormenta was appointed by Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani to create and manage the “super construction agency”.
Today, as CEO, he is responsible for the overall strategic direction and management of The LiRo Group, with a focus on maintaining high quality service standards while increasing market share and expanding services regionally.
Mr. Tormenta prides himself as a skilled hands-on manager, and on selective projects, is directly involved in the management and oversight of LiRo’s work. His knowledge of the New York Metropolitan design and construction market is invaluable to many of LiRo’s clients.
Mr. Tormenta teaches graduate level Construction Management for the Executive 21 Graduate Program at Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute as an adjunct professor. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from Manhattan College, and has been a Professional Engineer since 1984. |
