John P. Lekstutis, P.E. – Vice Chairman and President

Mr. Lekstutis has more than forty years of experience in the consulting engineering and construction management fields. As a professional engineer with expertise in environmental and infrastructure related programs, Mr. Lekstutis directs and manages all of LiRo Engineers’ operations. As part of these responsibilities, Mr. Lekstutis oversees the planning and implementation of all major projects, addressing such issues as work scope development, budgeting, scheduling and technical approach.

Recent project undertakings that Mr. Lekstutis was directly involved in include:
Construction Management and Engineering Support for the World Trade Center Cleanup/Restoration;
Engineering Design in Support of Reconstruction of the 1/9 Subway Tunnel and Station that was damaged as a result of the 9-11 terrorist attack; Construction Management for Street and Underground Utility Rehabilitation/Reconstruction in and around the World Trade Center; and Engineering Design and Construction Management for the Long Island Expressway through central Queens.

Prior to joining LiRo, Mr. Lekstutis served as President of an engineering company involved in transportation and building projects on Long Island and Connecticut. Mr. Lekstutis also served as Director of Environmental Projects for one of the nation’s premier designers and constructors of electrical power plants.

Through these activities, Mr. Lekstutis has developed a proficiency in successfully dealing with complex technical and community issues, many of which are at odds. He is able to balance these conflicting objectives in development of a consensus approach for the successful completion of important infrastructure improvement projects.
